Are your thoughts and negative self-talk out of control? We’ve all been there, where the thoughts in our own mind are coming so fast that you aren’t even sure what you are saying to yourself anymore, but you know it isn’t good. The more you spend time thinking about problems and issues and how to fix them, the worse you feel, and nothing ever seems to actually get better.
Taming Your Mind Talk
Common negative thoughts are often made up of judgments we make about ourselves and repeat to ourselves in our mind. “I’m not good enough…” or “No one cares…” “I’ll never been able to…” “Everyone else is better at..” are just a few examples of negative self-talk that can be very damaging and self-defeating in life, especially when they are repeated over and over again in the mind.
Mind talk, or mind chatter is one of the most damaging things to building a positive and healthy life, filled with living our dreams, and it is hard to stop the endless cycle of negative thinking.
Conquering the Negativity Monster
One thing you can do to conquer this negativity monster is to slow down your thinking. Spend 5 minutes with a pen and a blank piece of paper today writing down whatever thoughts spring into your mind. If you are having trouble getting started you can use a writing prompt such as: “The biggest problem in my life right now is…” or “The reason why I don’t have (fill in the blank with something you’ve been trying, but unable to accomplish in your life) is…” The idea is to slow down the speed of what you are already thinking about and telling yourself in your mind long enough to get it down on paper. Sometimes we’re so used to the negative messages we’re sending that we don’t even register what we were telling ourselves in our conscious mind. Writing helps make a connection between our thoughts and feelings about things and seeing these thoughts in a visual format can help us access them in a way where we can acknowledge and begin to change them to more positive messages.
Why Spirituality is Important to Mental Health
Spirituality is important to mental health because there is a connection between thoughts in the mind, our emotions and the needs of the spirit itself. If taming your thoughts begin to help you change your life, but don’t seem to be enough to create real and lasting change, developing your spiritual connection may help.
Holistic energy healing can be used to help you recover your sense of bright and vibrant mental health and to support you in increasing your positive beliefs and viewpoints about yourself and your life.
Sometimes realizing that we are repeating negative self-talk and messages to ourselves isn’t enough. If you are unable to change this habit, spiritual energy healing can help you get your out of control thoughts and negativity under control again.
It may be time to connect with someone who can help you brainstorm where to begin to make changes in your life and who can give you the support you need as you implement these changes. If you’ve been feeling stuck and nothing you’ve done to create positive change in your life feels like it is working, it is time to start exploring more out of the box options. Holistic and alternative medicine can provide options and possibilities for healing that you might not have considered or explored yet. Holistic medicine treatments don’t have to be something scary or complicated. Sometimes reconnecting with yourself, the divine and your own connection with source energy can provide the support you need in order to move forward in your life.
